presents
DENISE SPURLOCK
Counting Down to the 1940 Census
On April 2, 2012, the National Archives will release the 1940 census to the public. While digital images will be available, there will be no name index when the census is first released. In this presentation, you will learn about the questions asked in 1940, as well as how to find your ancestors before an every-name index is available.
Denise Spurlock, a former educator at the post-secondary level, has more than 20 years of experience in family research. She holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University’s Center for Professional Education and is a member of numerous genealogical organizations, including the Southern California Genealogical Society, Utah Genealogical Association, National Genealogical Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society, and Association of Professional Genealogists. Ms Spurlock also is the newsletter editor for the Southern California Chapter of the APG and writes three genealogy blogs: Denise’s Life in the Past Lane (pastlane.blogspot.com), Reflecting on Genealogy (reflectingongenealogy.blogspot.com), and The SoCalGenie (socalgenie.blogspot.com).
