LINDA SERNA

Family Stories: Genealogy Beyond “Just” the Dates

If you want your grandchildren and great-grandchildren to care about their ancestral family, your research must include more than just statistics and historical facts. It must encompass the stories--the fabric of your family’s history.

Linda Serna has loved family stories since the 7th grade, when she wrote about her family for a school project. Since then, in addition to raising six children, she has been an active researcher, with special emphasis on individual family stories and the part they play in finding clues, interpreting records, and scaling brick walls--and especially in helping us understand our pasts.

7 p.m.: Business meeting (really short!)
